Here is the third and final volume of karl Rahner's, now famous, collection of studies in pastoral theology. One of the most notable yhings about his writing is its breadth of scope, as well as its depth. Here he deals with such varied subjects as Railway missions, The prison pastorate and the theological meaning of devotion to the sacred heart. But in every case we are given the essential Christian message of loving God in man. Like all good theologians Rahner never loses himself in abstractions for their own sake if his thught is complex, it is because reality about which he writes is equally.
